Amidst the conquest and settlement of the American West, General William Jackson Palmer, a Railroad tycoon and the founding member of the Colorado Springs colony, built a sprawling, Tudor-style mansion nestled into the same rugged terrain as Garden of the Gods. An innovator at heart, Palmer's "castle" features a wealth of technologies and turn-of-the-century historical and architectural features. Plus, a new archeological dig at Palmer's trash site nearby reveals even more about his lifestyle.
