Colorado Experience: Lost and Preserved in Colorado Springs

2021, for Rocky Mountain PBS

Producer/Director/Archival/Research/Videographer/Writer/Editor, Kate Perdoni

with interview videography by Eric Hernendez

For 150 years, Colorado Springs' built environment has been shaped by major economic forces. Following genocide and forced removal of indigenous populations in the American west, Colorado Springs was chosen to colonize for its natural beauty. Tourism, the discovery of gold, Tuberculosis, America's industrialization of war, and the technology industry each changed the city's scape. As new eras bring new ideas, what will remain?

This documentary was created for Rocky Mountain PBS with financial support from History Colorado and the State Historic Fund.
